(this copy has been tried and worked wrt SITE, not worked wrt UQO).

A Free Win32 SSH Client (PuTTY) can be fetched from the tool's download page.

Fetch PuTTY.exe and save locally (e.g. in C:\Temp) then run it to connect to UofO (e.g. lotos.site.uottawa.ca) or UQO (e.g. jupiter.uqo.ca).

Running PuTTY.exe pops up an initial dialog window:

Host Name (or IP Address): lotos.site.uottawa.ca
Protocol: SSH
OPEN (button at the bottom of the page)
A pop-up window appears, complaining about the key: you need not save the key, but you may.
login as: luigi
Sent username "luigi"
luigi@lotos.site.uottawa.ca's password: enter_password_here
resize the window as preferred
NB: it's nicer to logout before killing the window.
