Requirements Management with TWiki

Create your TWiki account

  • If you have not done so yet, sign up for a TWiki account. (your Wiki Name should be your first name and last name written together with no spaces - see Wiki word for more information)

Create your own TWiki page for this lab

  • Click on "Edit this page" at the top of this page.
  • If asked, enter your user name and password.
  • Since we are all editing this page at the same time, we have to be careful not to overwrite each others modifications. If someone is editing the page, wait for a few seconds and try again.
  • Add your page to the list below following the given format. Then, preview and save your changes. Finally, click the ? next to your page (you may want to open this link in a new windo w).

Look at examples

  • Look at the jUCMNav requirements to get an idea of how requirements can be managed with Twiki.
  • Click on one of the requirements in column "Name".
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page and view the raw text for the requirement you have selected.
    • Go back to the page of the requirement.
    • Click on "Form For Req" and view the raw text for the form.
    • Go back to the list of requirements.
  • View the raw text of the page with the list of requirements.
    • Look at the form tag at the top of the file in order to understand what it does.
    • Look at the SEARCH command near the top of the file in order to understand what it does.
    • Go back to the list of requirements.
  • Click on requirement ReqActionUndoOne.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Referrers to this page". This will show you all the pages that link to this page.

Create your own form

  • Go to your lab page.
  • Create a TWiki page called FormYourFirstNameYourLastName
  • Create a form that captures the following details of a requirement: name, description, type, importance, priority, status, and stakeholders. You may use "Form For Req" as a starting point.
  • Your requirements pages should start with LabReqYourUottawaAccount (e.g. LabReqGmuss019).

Create your own "Create" button to add requirements

  • Go to your lab page.
  • Add a Create button. You may use jUCMNav requirements as a starting point.
  • Enter a few requirements.

Create your own queries

  • Go to your lab page.
  • Add a SEARCH which shows all requirements starting with LabReqYourUottawaAccount (you may use jUCMNav requirements as a starting point).
  • The SEARCH must display all requirements details.
  • Once you have done this, also try searching for all requirements starting with LabReq. This should show you not just your requirements but all requirements entered during this lab.
